Charity Cheque Presentations for the year 2016-2017
Posted on: 02/10/2017At the beginning of each year our student body votes on the charities they wish to support for the coming academic year.
Last year saw Cancer Research UK, Pilgrims Hospice, SNAAP and Porchlight benefit from all the fundraising that went on in school. In total almost £11k was raised.
Not only did these 4 main charities benefit from the funds but so too did Jeans for Genes, Children in Need, Red Nose Day, the Alzheimers Society and MacMillan via the coffee morning.
Representatives from the main charities came in recently to hear more about how students had achieved this fantastic sum and to collect their cheques. Three of them, Cancer Research UK, Pilgrims Hospice and Porchlight, will be delighted to hear that they are once again being supported by students and staff for the current academic year, along with the Kent, Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance.
Almost £4k has been raised to date just in 6 weeks so we have high hopes for beating last year's total!
