Geography Field Trip to Thanet - September 2018
Posted on: 27/09/2018The beautiful weather heralded the annual Year 8 Geography students' trip to the Thanet coast to three different locations; Minnis Bay, Botany Bay and Margate.
The purpose of our visit was to investigate and compare the characteristics of these areas. Students rated Botany Bay as the most fun, and several students created excellent geography-themed sand sculptures, including an impressive volcano and surrounding environment!
In Margate, students investigated the factors that make the town unique and evaluated opportunities to improve it further.
Minnis Bay was an excellent location to study coastal management and investigate tourism. We had a fantastic day overall!
