A level Results 2019
Posted on: 15/08/2019Barton Court is celebrating yet again excellent A level results this summer. All A levels taken this year were the new reformed A levels, widely considered to be more rigorous and demanding with a student’s relying more on end of year examinations. The success of our students has been amazing; 36% of all grades were either A* or A and 62% of grades were at A* - B, and 82% at A* - C. These are the best school A level results for many years.
Mr Macaulay, Headteacher commented:
“We are delighted by these results. Students this year had to cope with linear examinations at the end of two years of study and we are thoroughly delighted they have got the results their hard work justifies. These results are an improvement from last year and usually place the School in the Top 100 state schools in the country for Post-16 Education (Source: The Times). These results will help to transform the lives of our students and allow them to attend some of the most prestigious universities in the UK and overseas. I congratulate them for their excellent efforts and also thank the staff for their hard work over the last two years.”
The school is delighted with some notable achievements for individual students. 26% of students achieved AAB or higher in facilitating subjects. 15% of students achieved 3 or more A*/A grades each and 40% of students achieving 3 or more A*/B grades each. Notable achievements include Roseanna Temple who achieved an amazing 6 A* grades and will be going to Cambridge University to study Mathematics. Another talented Mathematician, George Lynch achieved A*A*AA and will be studying Mathematics at Warwick University. Both Joshua Deverson and Charlotte Kale achieved A*AA; Joshua will be studying Law at Durham University whilst Charlotte is looking forward to studying Economics at Bristol University.
We wish all students every success in their future careers and thank them for their contributions to Barton Court over the last 2 years.
