Lego Workshop
Posted on: 22/01/2020This week Year 8 students embraced the challenge to design, build and budget a Lego house.
They had strict guidelines on how they must design their house and were given sample material to help explore the multiple ways in which it could look. All calculations of dimensions and quantities were done prior to purchasing their Lego bricks and they had to stay within budget.
Many students successfully managed to design and build from their plans and this was highly praised by our facilitator. The purpose of the workshop was to help students make the important links of how maths is used in a variety of applications across workplaces, especially in creative ways. It was also an important lesson in how to learn from mistakes and to keep trying.
Thank you to the Medway Education Business Partnership for a great STEM day.
