The DT Department helps the Coronvirus Battle
Posted on: 07/04/2020The Trust is incredibly proud of the DT Department here at Barton Court who are currently working flat out making protective masks for those in the front line of the Covid-19 battle.
The team of three, lead by Mrs Cottrell, LT of DT, Ms Morris, Teacher of DT and Ms Parker, Teacher of HSC managed to make 100 masks in a day on Monday and are hopeful that more materials coming in later this week will help them to ramp up their production line.
So far enquiries have come in from the Police, hospital and Prison Service, but the first to be supplied are Canterbury Medical Practice who are absolutely delighted to have received a stock.
The masks have been produced in association with Kitronics and an engineer who assisted the development using the School's laser cutter.
Mrs Cottrell said "we are only too delighted to be able to help in this way providing some of the PPE that is so desperately needed by those in front line services".
