Ben started playing tennis at Canterbury Polo Farm when he was 5 and is the current GB National 12 & under Champion and ranked GB 12 & under No 1. He is now participating in the 14 & under age group and his highest GB 14 & under ranking was No 8.
Ben is now focusing on European tournaments for his development, and in March 2019, he won the prestigious Super Auray 12 & under tournament in France. The final is viewable on YouTube and has currently amassed 1.5m views!
Just before Christmas, Ben went to Miami and won the 12 & under Orange Bowl, regarded as the unofficial World Championships. To take home both of these prestigious titles in the same year is a huge achievement.
Since then, Ben has represented GB 14 & under in the Winter European Cup and represented the GB 12 & under in 2019.
Ben has now returned from competing in Sweden and France, in the highest ranked 14 & under tournaments, where he won the consolation final after playing 8 matches in Sweden, and 4 in France.
More recently, Ben won the Kent Junior Player of 2019 in an awards ceremony held at the Tudor Marriott Hotel in Maidstone.
Looking ahead to the future, his aim is to compete with the top ranked 14 & under European players in order to attain a higher ranking and get experience to aid his development.
Ben is certainly going to be one to watch out for in the years ahead and the School is tremendously proud of his achievements, particularly has he managed to keep up with his school work at the same time!
