District Athletics
Posted on: 10/06/2017On Saturday 10 June 4 BCGS students represented the Canterbury District at the Kent Schools Athletics Championships.
Scarlett competed in the Year 7 girls high jump and finished a credible 4th place, jumping 1m25 on the day. Jake from Year 9 looked in good form in his heats finishing as third fasting going in to the final. In the final he went one better and finished as a close 2nd, clocking an impressive 12.41 seconds in a tough head wind.
In the intermediate category there were successes for Cole and Roseanna. Cole finished just outside the podium places, running 2m 06seconds to finish 4th in the 800m. Roseanna was the biggest success story of the day, winning the 3000m in what was her first race at this distance.
The four students represented the School and the district exceptionally well and should be incredibly proud of their efforts. They await confirmation of whether they have been select for the county later on in the year, more news to follow.
