John Downton Awards 2022

Barton Court had fantastic success at this year’s John Downton Awards. This is an annual art competition open to students aged 11 to 18 from schools and colleges across Kent. 17 of our students applied and 11 were accepted for the final exhibition which is a wonderful achievement. The quality of the work was of the highest standard and there was strong competition.

Prizes were awarded in various categories and the Art Department is thrilled to say that three of our students won awards – Alice-May for Painting, Masami for Photography, and Dilan won Bronze, all in the 17-18 category. This is wonderful news and a testament to the hard work and dedication of our art students – congratulations to them all.

There was also further success for the Art Department as we are delighted to say that Barton Court won Best School!

The exhibition is currently on at County Hall in Maidstone, moving to Turner Contemporary in Margate in the New Year.
