Spanish Exchange Visit BCGS - April 23

Thirty students ranging from Year 9 to Year 11 travelled to Canterbury from Madrid, as part of a Spanish Exchange. This was the eighth time this successful partnership between Barton Court Grammar School and Institute Las Rozas occurred. During the trip, each Spanish student stayed with an English family which enabled them to experience our lifestyle and obviously practice their English. It was a fantastic week filled with many fun activities!

Trips out and about included a day in London with a boat trip along the Thames and a spot of sightseeing and a day at Leeds  Castle, as well as spending time in school. Spending time at home allowed the Spanish students to get to know their exchange partner a little better from what they liked to eat through to their hobbies.

It is a fantastic experience to be able to share some of the experiences from your own life with an exchange partner who has little experience of English culture and it was a lot of fun!
