Y12 Music

Y12 A Level musicians have been studying Area of Study 6: New Directions, and have been listening to composers who wrote in contemporary styles as part of their wider listening.

Inspired by the works of Berio and Peter Maxwell Davies, they created some scores for each other to play. The students really enjoyed performing each other’s pieces and discussing their intentions, before exploring common elements that this style of music uses.
