Y12 Health & Social Care Visit to CCCU

This week Y12 Health and Social Care students attended Canterbury Christ Church University to visit the Medicine, Health and Social Care Departments' Simulation Suite.

The University has a number of dummies that can be programmed to simulate different disorders for students to practice their skills on before they treat real humans.

They also learned how to properly don and doff PPE, looked at the spread of bacteria under ultraviolet light, and how to perform CPR on little Annie. The CPR dummies connect to a screen where they had a competition to see who is most accurate with their compressions.

If I ever need CPR then make sure Lola is around because she won with an accuracy of 98.42%!
