GCSE Results 2017
Posted on: 24/08/2017Barton Court is celebrating another excellent set of GCSE results this year. The students at Barton Court are just amazing and this is testament to the hard work and commitment of both our students and staff. Students achieved 47% A*/A grades (including 7+ in the new English and Mathematics GCSEs). This represents a significant increase of 5% from 2016.
97% of students achieved 5 A*-C grades including both English and Maths at grade 4 or higher and 71% achieved the English Baccalaureate.
Mr Ian Macaulay, Head of School commented “I am really delighted for all our students who have worked so hard to achieve these outstanding results. Students this year had to cope with demands of new tougher GCSEs in English and Mathematics and the majority of our students also gained the demanding English Baccalaureate. Despite this, they have excelled and should be justly proud. It was fantastic to see so many pleased and excited young faces collect their results this morning, we look forward to welcoming the majority of them back to Barton Court in September for another 2 years of successful study.”
The school is delighted with some notable achievements for individual students with 19 students (16%) achieving an amazing 10 or more straight A*/A/ 7+ grades whilst over 50% of students achieved 5 or more A*/A/7+ passes. There are too many students to mention individually!
“The School would like to thank all staff for their hard work and all parents and Governors for their continued support without which such excellent results and student achievement would not be possible.”
