BCAT Finance & Premises Manager award the Silver Acorn Medal for Scouting

On Sunday 22 April, Mrs Swift, our Trust Finance and Premises Manager, was awarded the Silver Acorn Medal for Scouting.  This is a prestigious award which is given in recognition of specially distinguished service in Scouting and is a St Georges Day Award. 

The medal was presented to Mrs Swift, by Dean Harding, Kent Scouts County Commissioner and then Mrs Swift attended an Awards and Achievement Service in St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle.  The service was part of the annual St George’s Day celebrations at the Castle, attended by members of the Royal family. 

Mrs Swift has been involved in the Scout Association for 30 years as a leader and a manager and more recently as the County Treasurer for Kent Scouts. 

Mrs Swift said ‘I am immensely proud to have received the Silver Acorn, and feel honoured to have been part of such an important day at the Castle’.
