Design Technology Gifted & Talented Event
Posted on: 30/11/201645 local primary school students in Y5 attended the Design Technology Gifted and Talented event to enable them to experience a secondary school lesson in one of the many subjects BCGS offers.
They were tasked with an engineering challenge, building a bridge with spaghetti and blue tack, strong enough to hold a 1kg bag of sugar for 30 seconds. Learning about different types of bridges and how they are built enabled them to work together as a team and come up with a successful bridge.
After much experimenting all the students managed to build a bridge of sorts, although whether they all managed to support a 1kg bag of sugar is debatable.
Gifted and Talented events are always extremely popular and are booked up very quickly. Details for next year's events will be on our website in September.
